nbn is a wholesaler. When choosing a plan over the nbn network from your service provider, be sure to ask about the average speeds you are likely to experience during peak times.
Equipment connected over the nbn network will not work during a power blackout. Below is more information about how each technology used in the nbn Multi Technology Mix (MTM) is affected by power loss.
The rollout of the nbn network will involve new technologies and some existing devices may not be compatible with these at all times.
Although most existing services will be replaced by the nbn network, there are some services that should not be impacted. These include those services provided over non-nbn fibre networks, some services in some apartment complexes, and some business and Special Services. nbn strongly recommends you contact your current phone and internet provider as soon as possible to find out if your services are impacted. Wholesale high speed tiers means nbn™ Home Fast, Home Superfast and Home Ultrafast wholesale speed tiers with download speeds of at least 100Mbps. Not all providers offer plans based on the full range wholesale high speed tiers. The wholesale speed tiers available to providers for your location will depend on the actual/attainable speeds over your nbn™ connection. Talk to your preferred provider for more information about availability and the right retail solution for your needs.
Enterprise Ethernet eligibility is based on an nbn desktop analysis of available data. There may be a small number of premises where eligibility results will differ from those provided on the nbn website. You will need to confirm your location’s eligibility with your provider.
An end customer’s experience, including the speeds actually achieved over the nbn™ network, depends on the nbn™ access technology and configuration over which services are delivered to your premises, whether you are using the internet during the busy period, and some factors outside nbn’s control (like your equipment quality, software, broadband plan, signal reception and how your service provider designs its network).
Conditions, eligibility criteria and costs will apply – please speak with your preferred provider. Eligibility criteria includes among other things, being designated by nbn as a simple premises and placing an order for an nbn powered plan based on an eligible wholesale speed tier where required.
