Relocating nbn® assets usually involves two fees, which must be paid before our work can begin. The costs depend on your site and the complexity of the work required.
Our general cost guide can help you decide whether relocation works are right for your project. Please note that prices may change over time.
No fees apply for removing nbn Fixed Line assets as part of a single-dwelling residential demolition.
Understanding relocation works fees
The application fee is a non-refundable fee ranging from $550 to $2,750 (inc. GST).
We will send you this fee once we’ve received your application and confirmed that we can help with your request.
The fee covers the costs for us to assess your request in more detail. This can include things like:
- Reviewing how your requested changes will work with the existing nbn network
- Determining the most suitable way to complete the relocation work
- Preparing a detailed Scope of Work by our approved contractor
Once we have assessed your application, we will send you the nbn Offer. If you choose to proceed, the application fee is deducted from the quote in the nbn Offer.
These are the typical starting prices for common relocation works scenarios. The prices are estimates only and a quote for your scenario will be provided once your application is further assessed with our approved contractor.
Costs can vary based on how complex the work is and can increase significantly, for example, if road crossings or traffic management are required.
- Aerial to underground conversions: from $4,000 (inc. GST)
- Lead-in relocations: from $3,000 (inc. GST)
- Relocation of externally mounted nbn equipment in nbn Fixed Line areas: from $2,400 (inc. GST)
- Other types of work like pit and/or conduit relocations require scoping before cost estimates can be provided.
The nbn Offer covers the cost to deliver the relocation works. This includes construction and system updates when the work is completed.
