Severe Weather November 2022
Update on storm event in South Australia
17 November at 3:20pm ADST
Following the severe storm event that resulted in power outages impacting the nbn network in south eastern areas of South Australia, most impacts to nbn connections have now been resolved with nbn generators at ten locations supporting communications for communities while mains power restoration continues.
There are 347 services currently offline, mostly HFC and, unfortunately, restoring power with an alternative power source is not possible with this technology.
If you’re experiencing service issues, please check the status of your service on our Network Outages page.
If no outage is displayed and you’re still without service, please contact your phone and internet service provider. Your provider will raise a case allowing us to identify the cause and work to restore your service.
This will be the last update for this issue.

Mains power outages continue to impact the nbn network across parts of Adelaide, Warramboo, Coffin Bay, Corny Point, Keith, Taplan, Renmark, Peterborough and surrounding areas.
Power restoration and deployment of nbn generators to key assets has bought around 20,000 nbn services back online in the last 24 hours. There are around 7,500 homes and businesses still impacted.
During a power outage, any equipment connected via services over the nbn network will not work.

Mains power outages are still impacting the nbn network across parts of Adelaide, Warramboo, Coffin Bay, Corny Point, Keith, Taplan, Renmark, Peterborough and surrounding areas.
As a result of the power outages, there are around 27,000 homes and businesses connected to the nbn network that are currently offline. There is currently no damage to nbn equipment that is impacting services. All services impacted are reliant on power restoration. We expect nbn services to restore as power restoration occurs.
There are a number of nbn assets running on battery and generator power, which are supporting some nbn Fixed Wireless customers.
During a power outage, any equipment connected via services over the nbn network will not work.
nbn's Temporary Emergency Management Solutions (Sky Muster Truck and two portable satellite flyaway kits) are on standby and ready to use if requested by local authorities.

A severe storm event has resulted in power outages in south eastern areas of South Australia, including parts of Adelaide, Warramboo, Coffin Bay, Corny Point, Keith, Taplan, Renmark, Peterborough and surrounding areas.
nbn phone and internet services have been restored to approximately 16,000 premises throughout the day on Sunday 13 November. Approximately 42,000 premises in affected areas are currently without nbn services due to a loss of mains power at these premises.
Many nbn infrastructure sites that have lost mains power have reverted to batteries for back-up power supply. We have also installed 14 generators to maintain service continuity at six nbn Fixed Wireless infrastructure sites, and we are preparing to deploy an additional 15 generators to 11 other nbn Fixed Wireless infrastructure sites to maintain service continuity.
Some nbn network infrastructure sites have been affected by the severe weather and power outages and we are working to bring these sites back online as soon as possible.
