The nbn^® network is not currently available in your building

We have made several attempts to initiate the process of establishing an nbn network connection to your building, however we have been unsuccessful in our engagement with the building’s authorised representative. Consequently, nbn does not currently plan to install a network connection to your building, unless we receive a request from the Owners’ Corporation.

If you currently use existing fixed line phone or internet services there are a number of implications to be aware of:

Critical copper services such as emergency lift phones and monitored fire alarm systems may be at risk of disconnection.*
Occupiers may not be able to continue to access other critical services connected to the existing Fixed Line networks such as medical alarms and emergency call systems, monitored security alarms and fax machines.^{^}
Existing fixed line services will be disconnected at a future date and occupiers will not be able to make phone calls or access the internet over the Fixed Line network unless the nbn supplied equipment is installed at the property. The disconnection of existing Fixed Line services will not affect occupier's ability to access phone and internet services over mobile networks.
Future requests for an nbn network connection will result in costs payable by the Owners Corporation and/or owners/occupiers.

However, if your phone and internet services are already provided via another fibre network, they will continue to operate as normal unless your provider advises otherwise.

nbn strongly recommends that you contact your current provider of phone and internet services, or visit www.nbn.com.au/switchoff for more information about whether your services will be impacted by the rollout of the nbn network.^#

Although most existing services will be replaced by the nbn network, there are some services that should not be impacted. These include those services provided over non-nbn fibre networks, as well as some services in some apartment complexes, and some business and Special Services. If you are currently receiving broadband services using one of these networks, your broadband services will not be disconnected and you do not need to move to the nbn network if you do not want to. nbn strongly recommends you contact your current phone and internet provider for more information.

Disconnection information

Premises connected to the nbn^® network via nbn Fixed Wireless won't be disconnected from their existing phone and internet services by nbn.

If you want to keep your existing copper phone line active when you order a service over nbn Fixed Wireless, you should speak to your phone and internet provider at the time you place your order.

Planned technology

nbn Satellite*

Good news! It looks like your location may be eligible for the business nbn^® Satellite Service⁺. The business nbn Satellite Service is designed to support business-grade internet, data and voice services^§ to Australian businesses in remote and rural areas^{^}.

Premises connected to the nbn^® network via nbn Satellite won't be disconnected from their existing phone and internet services by nbn.

Premises identified by nbn as medium/large business premises are not to be serviced by nbn™ Sky Muster™ or nbn™ Sky Muster^™ Plus. The nbn™ Satellite product available to medium/large business premises is business nbn™ Satellite Service. If you’re interested in nbn™ Sky Muster™ or nbn™ Sky Muster™ Plus services or believe your premises has been incorrectly categorised please contact your phone and internet provider.

The business nbn Satellite Service provides voice support for VoIP carriage and is not a voice provider.

An end customer’s experience, including the speeds actually achieved over the nbn™ network, depends on the nbn™ access technology and configuration over which services are delivered to your premises, whether you are using the internet during the busy period, and some factors outside nbn’s control (like your equipment quality, software, broadband plan, signal reception and how your service provider designs its network).

nbn and Western Sydney International Airport agreement a game changer

Australia’s broadband network is teaming with Australia’s new global gateway to help enable Western Sydney International Airport’s vision to be one of Australia’s most technologically advanced airports.

nbn and Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport have signed a Master Developer Agreement which will be a critical component of the site’s transformation into a high-tech transport and business hub.

nbn’s Executive General Manager of New Development Andrew Walsh said the deal will be a game changer for one of Australia’s biggest infrastructure projects - that’s why with any new development nbn should be part of the plan.

“This is about giving Western Sydney International Airport access to Australia’s biggest wholesale broadband network so it can best provide for its passengers, airline, air cargo and business park customers,” Mr Walsh said.

“The nbn network has become a must have for new developments around the country, whether it’s a subdivision with just a dozen or so blocks, or multi-billion projects like the airport.

Western Sydney International Airport CEO Simon Hickey said the airport partnered with nbn to deliver the best outcomes for its customers.

“Western Sydney International Airport is committed to being a world-class, digitally enabled airport with leading operational efficiency and this deal with nbn will help us to deliver that vision,” Mr Hickey said.

“Our airport, cargo and business precincts will create new opportunities and support thousands of jobs so it’s vital to ensure we have the best technology in place for a seamless experience whether you are flying, working or building a business from Western Sydney International Airport.”

The agreement is the latest partnership nbn has built in Western Sydney.

“We continue to work with Western Parkland City Authority to align our network investments with their masterplan to deliver the new Bradfield City Centre located in the Western Sydney Aerotropolis,” Mr Walsh said.

“There are 23 Business Fibre Zones in Western Sydney, where customers can access Enterprise Ethernet and its symmetrical upload and download speeds, data options close to 10Gbps and a 24/7 local support centre.

“The potential is enormous in Western Sydney, with its 625,000 new lots planned in coming years, more than all the other greenfield development across Australia.

“The recently launched product nbn^® Smart Places will allow developers in Western Sydney to bring their smart places and smart cities visions to life with a simple product which uses the power of the nbn network.

“This is especially important for the development of smart properties, communities and cities, like the Western Parkland City and Bradfield City Centre.

“These innovative new connection devices enable the power of the nbn network to be delivered to demanding outdoor locations that just aren’t serviceable using standard equipment.

“This can provide broadband for things like traffic lights, CCTV, Smart Poles, digital billboards and public Wi-Fi - nbn Smart Places could be the solution.”

a Business Fibre Zone will be created at Western Sydney International Airport – this will allow customers to access nbn’s premium business product Enterprise Ethernet with no upfront building costs
about 1000 premises will be able to get a nbn network connection

nbn will install 25km of fibre to service the airport terminal and future business park
