Wholesale Price Changes from 1 July

01 May 2026

From 1 July 2026, nbn will make its annual changes to the wholesale prices charged to phone and internet providers.

nbn’s wholesale prices will be adjusted, on average, by just under the annual percentage change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI), measured over the 12 months to 31 December 2025, which was 3.63 per cent. Across nbn’s most popular residential fixed‑line speed plans, the wholesale price change is between $0 and $2.34 per month, depending on the speed tier. For those on business plans, price changes will be aligned to CPI.

These changes support continued investment in the nbn network, helping to ensure nbn can continue to meet the growing data needs of Australian homes and businesses while remaining affordable and competitive.

The price customers pay for their nbn broadband service is set by their phone and internet provider. Australians have more choice than ever, with more than 150 providers offering a wide range of nbn plans at different price points, speeds and inclusions to suit different needs and budgets.

The changes are consistent with the regulatory framework in nbn’s varied Special Access Undertaking (SAU), which was accepted by the ACCC in October 2023 following extensive consultation, and is designed to keep wholesale pricing fair, transparent and predictable.

Anna Perrin, Chief Customer Officer at nbn, said:

"As more Australians embrace the faster speeds, increased resilience and improved customer experience of nbn fibre, we continue to upgrade the nbn network to meet the growing demand of our nation’s critical digital infrastructure.

“nbn’s pricing reflects a measured and transparent approach, consistent with regulatory settings and focused on supporting long‑term investment in the network.”

“We understand that price changes can raise questions for customers, which is why we encourage people to review their options and check they’re on the plan that best suits their needs and budget.

“Value and choice matter, and this is reflected in the strong choice amongst retailers, with more than 150 nbn providers offering a wide range of plans and price points for customers”.
