NBN Co appoints Virgin Blue as Preferred Supplier

NBN Co, the company established to design, build and operate the national broadband network today announced it has contracted Virgin Blue for air travel.

Head of Corporate Services, Kevin Brown, said the tender process had been extremely competitive and NBN Co had secured a good deal for a contract to address the majority of NBN Co's travel requirements.

"NBN Co's network, once built, will reduce the tyranny of distance however the extensive breadth of the task ahead will necessitate significant movement of people around Australia during its design and construction.

"NBN Co is pleased to reach agreement with Virgin Blue where price, network, frequency of flights and service are all important," he said.
