nbn statement: FTTC services in Coburg and Miranda

29 March 2018

NBN Co’s first commercial Fibre-to-the-Curb (FTTC) services are now available to around 1,000 premises in Coburg, Victoria and Miranda, New South Wales with internet providers now able to sell services over the nbn™ network.

NBN Co’s FTTC network will see services delivered in selected areas over new fibre all the way to a telecom pit close to the premises and existing copper lines used from the pit to the premises.

The FTTC network is being designed to deliver access to wholesale speeds of up to 100/40Mbps to retail service providers and has the potential to offer higher speeds via new copper acceleration technology G.fast which nbn plans to launch in selected areas before year’s end.
