Dion commenced his appointment as NBN Co’s Chief Operating Officer on 1 July 2026. He was previously Chief Network Officer, with responsibility for network technology, engineering and deployment.
In his position as Chief Operating Officer, Dion is responsible for network technology, engineering, infrastructure deployment, and the activation, operation and assurance of the nbn® network across all technologies. He also leads the ongoing improvement of network security and resilience, while deploying next-generation technologies to meet the digital needs of Australians now and into the future.
With more than 20 years’ experience in the telecommunications sector, Dion brings deep engineering, commercial and operational expertise, including more than a decade in senior leadership roles across NBN Co. He is also the Executive Sponsor of Cultural Diversity and a strong advocate for the next generation of STEM talent.
Dion holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and a Bachelor of Management from the University of South Australia, as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from Torrens University Australia.
