Severe Weather December 2021

In this blog, we’ll provide updates on our severe weather recovery efforts and details of our support to local communities as it relates to the nbn™ network. Ongoing updates can also be found on the nbn Twitter account @NBN_Australia

22 December at 3:16pm

  • The severe weather impacting New South Wales has eased. We are aware of approximately 180 nbn™ services impacted, mainly due to mains power outages, and have been advised these will soon be restored.
  • In the event resulting network damage or service faults are identified, nbn will have crews working to restore any services safely and as quickly as possible.
  • As we expect services to be reconnected soon, this will be the final update. We encourage you to check the status of your service on our Network Status page. If there is no outage displayed and you are still without service, please contact your phone and internet service provider. The provider will raise a case allowing us to identify the cause and work to restore the service safely and as quickly as possible.

  • As a result of the severe weather which impacted parts of New South Wales on Sunday afternoon (19 December 2021), approximately 3,800 services remain offline, mainly due to mains power outages at those premises.
  • We are working with emergency services and power providers and, as power is restored, we will have a clearer indication of any potential impacts to network infrastructure.
  • We advise customers that mains power outages will impact nbn™ services at individual premises.

  • As a result of the severe weather which impacted parts of New South Wales on Sunday afternoon (19 December 2021), approximately 10,700 services remain offline, mainly due to mains power outages at those premises.
  • Services in Victoria are now fully restored.
  • We are working with emergency services and power providers in New South Wales and, as power is restored, we will have a clearer indication of any potential impacts to network infrastructure.
  • We advise customers that mains power outages will impact nbn™ services at individual premises.

  • As a result of the severe weather which impacted parts of New South Wales and Victoria on Sunday afternoon (19 December 2021), approximately 16,600 New South Wales and 951 Victorian customers are experiencing a disruption to their nbn™ services, mainly due to mains power outages at those premises.
  • We are working with emergency services and power providers and, as power is restored, we will have a clearer indication of any potential impacts to network infrastructure.
  • We advise customers that mains power outages will impact nbn™ services at individual premises.
