HOW TO MAKE THE SWITCH

A step-by-step guide to connecting your business

As you know, the nbn® network is being rolled out area by area. As each area becomes ready for service, affected services will have up to an 18-month window – your ‘ready for service’ window – before they are disconnected, so it’s important you switch affected services before your disconnection date, even if you only use a landline phone.^

The copper network within nbn Fixed Wireless and Sky Muster® Satellite areas will not be switched off. Certain business telecommunications services – called Special Services – are different.# Visit the Special Services page for more information.

And always remember – the nbn network is a wholesale only network, which means that voice and data products, and other broadband services, must be ordered from a service provider.

Disconnection dates vary and not all Special Services will be disconnected. When a service will be disconnected, and the timing of disconnection, will depend on factors including the type of Special Service, when the nbn™ broadband access network is available, which nbn™ access technology is available and whether Telstra has issued a BAU product exit in respect of a Special Service. To find out if your services will be affected, and applicable disconnection dates, contact your current service provider.
