What is the nbn network?

The nbn™ network is Australia’s new broadband network. It’s designed to provide you with access to all the benefits of fast and reliable internet services, wherever you live.

Check your address to get information specific to your home or business. This is the best way to find out exactly what services will be affected at your address.* If you don't place an order for services over the nbn with your preferred service provider before the disconnection date for your premises you will lose access to affected existing internet and landline services.*

NBN Co limited (nbn) is a government business entity, the team behind the nbn™ network rollout. We are responsible for providing wholesale services to landline phone companies and internet service providers who offer nbn™ plans for homes and businesses. As a wholesaler, nbn does not sell directly to the public. That means, to move your services over to the nbn™ network, you will need to contact your preferred phone or internet provider and choose a new plan that suits your needs.

*Services provided over the nbn™ network will be replacing phone and internet services provided over most of the existing landline networks, including copper and the majority of HFC networks within the fixed line footprint. Services provided over existing fibre networks (including in-building, health and education networks) and some special and business services may not be affected. To find out if your services will be affected, please contact your current phone or internet provider. For more information, visit www.nbnco.com.au/switchoff or call 1800 687 626.
