More and more, Australians are either complementing or replacing their consumption of live broadcast TV with streamed content. Research released from independent Australian research company Roy Morgan, shows that since September 2010, the proportion of Australians streaming or downloading TV, movie or video content online and not watching live broadcast TV at all has doubled, to 6% of the population — or 1.2 million people.

During the FTTH Council Asia-Pacific conference in Auckland last month, Telecom Orange’s head of fibre program Yves Parfait said that the demand for high speed broadband is increasing rapidly in France and that his company has committed to a €2 billion program that will bring FTTH to 60% of France by 2020.
Currently the French market is dominated by DSL however,
“The demand for very high [speed] broadband is there, no doubt… the number of connected devices is increasing, as are the number of cloud services… and [there is an increasing demand] for low latency services.”

NBN Co provides our service provider customers with information on the upcoming FSAMs that are forecast to commence switching over to the NBN. The switch over for end users will occur over an 18-month period after a rollout region is declared Ready for Service (RFS).
