As a developer, developer's representative, contractor, designer, builder or building owner, there are certain guidelines you must adhere to in order to ensure your new development is prepared correctly for the installation of the nbn™ network and to receive the Certificate of Practical Completion. By following the nbn guidelines, you can ensure a smooth connection to the nbn™ network for your development stage.
There are three ways the nbn™ network can be included in your development stage: Lead-in Conduits (LICs), pit and pipe, or pathways. It is the developer or their representative's responsibility to build the works required for nbn to install the nbn™ network. It is crucial that you follow the relevant guidelines and checklists to avoid remediation, delays or fees.
The building process you should follow would have been determined as a result of applying online. Please ask your developer or developer's representative(s) which process you should follow for each premises or contact nbn and quote your stage application reference.
If you have not applied for the nbn™ network, get started by applying online using the pre-qualification online tool.

Design submissions are required for pit and pipe works or pathway works. Design support tools are also available to assist you with creating the correct design files.
Pre-construct designs should be submitted online. Once approved, you can commence the build process.
As-built (post construct) designs should also be submitted online for nbn to review for pit and pipe works as part of the Notice of Practical Completion (PCN).
If you're ready to submit a pre-construct design, or an as-built design and/or PCN, view the required checklists you must follow and submit online.
nbn has prepared marketing resources to assist you with the promotion of your nbn™ network ready property.
